Clicking the "Mail" sub-menu in the "Rules" menu opens a dialog box like the one shown above, In this example, two rules have been created. The one that is illustrated moves any mail addressed to "someone@someplace.com" to the deleted items folder. It could also have been chosen not to download the mail at all and to delete it directly off the server. Rules can be modified or new rules added by clicking the appropriate button. Adding a new rule is shown below.

   

After clicking the "New" button, you are presented with a considerable assortment of conditions that can be used to make rules for filtering e-mail. The figure above shows some and others can be obtained by scrolling the boxes. By using the Boolean operators AND, OR, and NOT, quite complicated rules can be formulated. Personally, I find it easier to just delete spam and to use a few rules to exclude mail containing the more egregious sexual terms and things like Viagra (with several variant spellings)
